On May 15th, 1987, Jim Dobrzynski, Sr. opened the doors of Crossmark Graphics, Inc. for the first time. With a single employee in a 6,000 sq. ft. facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin, Jim started the business with the goal of producing the highest quality in printed products, and forming lasting relationships with his customers. 20 years later, those goals are continuing to be met.
The business began as a one and two color shop and added two more employees that first summer. Jim's son Mark joined the business in 1989 as the company's first full-time salesman. By 1992 Crossmark Graphics had outgrown the Cudahy location and moved to a 12,000 sq. ft. facility in New Berlin, WI. Growth continued in 1993 with the first multi-color press joining the equipment roster. Additional expansion soon made it clear another move was going to be needed, and in 1998 the business found a new home at it's current location on Overland Drive in New Berlin.
Jim purchased the 45,000 sq. ft. building with an eye toward the future as it had room for more equipment, and the property allowed for future additions. A 40" six-color press, expanded prepress facilities, additional bindery equipment, and a fulfillment warehouse kept the level of services offered by Crossmark on the rise. In 2006 a 21,000 sq. ft. addition was built on to the main facility which allowed for the installation of a second 40" six-color press, a new receiving center, and expanded fulfillment capacity.
Throughout the changes that the business has gone through, Jim's philosophy has remained constant. As he has often said, "If better is possible, good is not enough". High quality products and services have been the key to the success of Crossmark Graphics and will continue to be so as we move into the future.
